Phone farm rental for social media

Real phones, cloud phones and emulators are all sold as phone farms. What each one is, what it suits, and how to choose.

The short answer

A phone farm rental gives your team a set of phones that someone else hosts, powers and keeps online, which you operate remotely. The phrase covers very different things, from racks of physical phones on real SIM cards to virtual Android devices running on a server. MKY Remote is the first kind: we rent dedicated iPhones, each on its own mobile SIM, that you control live from your browser, from $65 per iPhone for 30 days.

Four things sold as a phone farm

Ask which one you are buying before you compare prices.

Managed physical phones

Real handsets in a rack, each with its own SIM or network connection, streamed to your browser. The provider handles power, updates and recovery, and you get a device that is exactly what the app was built for. MKY Remote works this way, with iPhones.

Cloud phones

Virtual Android devices running on servers, or Android boards in a data centre. Cheap to start in large numbers and easy to automate, but Android only, and they usually reach the internet through a proxy rather than a SIM.

Emulators

Software that imitates an Android phone on your own computer. The cheapest way to open many app sessions, but it is not a phone: some apps behave differently on an emulated device, and some will not run at all.

Your own farm

Buying phones, SIM plans, USB hubs and control software yourself. The lowest cost per device over time and full control, but you are responsible for power, cables, updates and every device that drops offline at night.

What to check before you rent

Real or virtual. "Cloud phone" can mean a physical device or a virtual one. Ask what is actually running your apps.

iPhone or Android. If your team works on iPhones, or the apps you rely on are better on iOS, virtual Android devices are out.

How it connects. Its own mobile SIM, a shared Wi-Fi network, or a proxy you have to supply yourself.

Dedicated or pooled. The same device every session, or whichever one is free. Apps you sign into stay signed in only on a dedicated device.

How you control it. In a browser, in a desktop app, or only through an API, and whether it also works from your own phone.

Team access. Whether each person can have their own login with access to specific phones, without anyone sharing a password.

Getting content onto the phones. Whether you can upload videos and schedule posts, or have to do everything by hand.

When a device drops. Whether it is monitored, how it recovers, and how fast a person answers when you ask.

Where MKY Remote fits

MKY Remote is a managed farm of real iPhones: iPhone SE 2020, XR, 11, 12 mini and 13 on current iOS, plus iPhone 8 and X kept on iOS 16 for jailbreak and container setups. Every phone is dedicated to one customer and runs on its own mobile SIM, with no VPN or proxy in the path.

You control each phone live from any browser, on desktop or your own phone, and can watch several at once in multiview. Upload photos and videos and they land in the phone's gallery. The scheduler posts to Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads and Facebook, and one upload can go to several phones at staggered times. Team members get their own logins with access to specific phones only.

Pricing starts at $65 per iPhone for 30 days, and support is a direct conversation on Telegram, not a ticket queue. We only rent iPhones, so if you need Android or hundreds of devices at the lowest price per unit, a cloud phone provider will suit you better. See pricing or read what an iPhone rental includes.

When a phone farm is not the answer

If you run one or two accounts, you do not need one. Instagram and TikTok both let you add several accounts to the app and switch between them on your own phone, for free. Here is how that compares with the alternatives.

A phone farm also does not change the rules. Fake engagement and undisclosed paid posts break Instagram's and TikTok's rules on any hardware, and our terms make following each platform's rules the customer's responsibility. Use it to run accounts you own or manage.

Common questions

What is a phone farm rental?

A service that hosts a set of phones and lets you operate them remotely, so your team can run apps on them without buying and maintaining the hardware. The term covers physical phones on real SIMs, virtual cloud phones and emulators, which differ a lot.

Is a cloud phone the same as a real phone?

Not usually. Most cloud phones are virtual Android devices running on servers, often connected through a proxy. A rented real phone is a physical handset; at MKY Remote it is an iPhone on its own mobile SIM.

How much does phone farm rental cost?

It depends on the type. At MKY Remote a dedicated iPhone on its own mobile SIM starts at $65 for 30 days. Virtual cloud phones are usually cheaper per device, and building your own farm costs the hardware upfront plus SIM plans.

Can I use a rented phone farm for Instagram and TikTok?

Yes. On MKY Remote you use the real Instagram and TikTok apps on each iPhone, and the scheduler can post to Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads and Facebook. Use it for accounts you own or manage, within each platform's rules.

Do I need my own SIM cards?

No. Every MKY Remote iPhone already runs on its own mobile SIM with real carrier data.

Can my team work on the phones at the same time?

Yes. Each person can have their own login with access to specific phones, and several phones can be watched and controlled at once in multiview.
